Job Title: Warehouse Associate (with Light Welding and Equipment Operation) Job Description

This role combines hands-on warehouse operations with light manufacturing support. You will spend the majority of your day performing core warehouse activities such as order picking, shipping, receiving, and inventory control, while dedicating a small portion of your time to MIG welding and operating material-handling equipment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys an active, physical work environment, is comfortable on forklifts and reach trucks, and is eager to support both warehouse and light production needs.

Responsibilities
  • Pick and pull customer orders accurately and efficiently using RF scanners and warehouse management tools.
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and scissor lifts safely for up to approximately 50% of the workday to move, stage, and organize materials.
  • Perform shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks, verifying shipments, and preparing materials for delivery.
  • Support inventory control by counting, tracking, and organizing stock, and helping maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Stock shelves and replenish materials, dedicating a significant portion of the day to stocking activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse by tearing down boxes, taking out trash, sweeping floors, and following 5S or similar housekeeping practices.
  • Use RF scanners and basic computer systems to complete data entry, update inventory records, and process orders.
  • Perform light MIG welding and assist with equipment operation for approximately 5% of the workday, primarily at the end of the day as needed by the team.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating material-handling equipment, welding, and performing warehouse tasks.
  • Assist team members and other departments as needed to ensure smooth daily operations and timely order fulfillment.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of warehouse experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a reach truck or forklift in a warehouse setting.
  • Hands-on experience with order picking and order pulling for shipping and receiving operations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer use and data entry to support inventory and shipping documentation.
  • Experience using RF scanners or similar handheld devices for order processing and inventory control.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs unassisted and more than 60 lbs with assistance.
  • Comfort operating equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, and scissor lifts while following safety protocols.
  • Basic familiarity with MIG welding or a willingness to use existing welding skills for light production tasks.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP or another warehouse management system (WMS) is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving roles within a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Prior exposure to inventory control processes, including cycle counting and stock organization.
  • Comfort working with structural or industrial products is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support both warehouse and light manufacturing tasks.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment.
Why Work Here?

The organization offers a comprehensive total rewards package that supports your health, financial well-being, and long-term growth. You can access medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement contributions, employee stock purchase options, and bonus plans that share company profits on a quarterly basis. Time off benefits include paid holidays, vacation, sick days, funeral leave, and jury duty, along with years-of-service awards that recognize your commitment. Some Saturdays may be required for shorter shifts of approximately 4–6 hours, though this occurs infrequently. The facility uses swamp cooling, and temperatures in the warehouse can reach the low 90s, supported by installed industrial fans throughout the aisles and on the reach trucks to improve air circulation and comfort. The role is physically active, requiring frequent movement, lifting, and equipment operation. The workplace maintains a strong focus on safety, including health and cleanliness practices in the warehouse.
