QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School Diploma
2. Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
3. Exemplary interpersonal, communication, technology, organizational, clerical skills.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Helps maintain the health office under the direction of the nurse
2. Assists with collection and maintenance of health records and data.
3. Perform clerical duties such as: data entry, duplicating, filing, and preparing files, folders, rosters, emergency cards, health protocols, etc., utilizing appropriate technology.
4. Assists with weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
5 Maintains confidentiality regarding all school and health-related issues.
6. Performs delegated tasks related to medications under supervision of school nurse
7. Assists in vision and hearing screenings, if properly certified
8. Provides minor first aid within his/her training in first aid
9. Maintains open communication with the Registered Nurse and Certified School Nurse, relaying messages as directed to teachers, other school personnel, and parents/guardians in order that a cooperative action will meet the health needs of pupils
10. Contacts parents/guardians or those responsible for children in case of serious injury, illness,
or other health related problems as directed by the nurse.
11. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Superintendent of Education, School Nurse or School Principal
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Technical:
- Maintains accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates and use of data to support data retrieval and analysis
- Maintains ongoing records of student visits to the health office documenting assessments, interventions, and dispositions in individual student health records
- Manages school health records in accordance with Illinois School Student Records Act, providing efficient retrieval of information and other related archival responsibilities
- Maintains the daily environment of the health office facility and supplies
- Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties
- Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology
Interpersonal:
- Utilizes continuing education opportunities to enhance professional knowledge
- Participates as an active member of the school community, representing health/wellness
- Performs other such duties and assumes other such responsibilities as may be assigned by the School Principal or Associate Superintendent of Education

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Manual Dexterity: Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordinated performance.
Physical Effort: Work requires handling average weight materials or equipment, but not for sustained periods.
Working Conditions: Some exposure to definitely disagreeable elements may exist.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: June 8, 2026 - July 2, 2026; Monday thru Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
SALARY RANGE: Minimum of $15.64 per hour. (Current D50 employees in this position will be paid their current rate of pay.)
