Plant Engineer - Electrical
Title: Plant Engineer - Electrical
Location: New Florence, PA 15944
Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
Established in 2015, we are a power-generation operator that manages a state-of-the-art coal-fired waste facility built in 2004, employing roughly 135 people to support reliable baseload energy for the PJM grid. As the largest waste-coal plant in the U.S., we produce enough electricity for 650,000+ homes while reducing regional environmental impact through CFB combustion and mine-land reclamation. As we continue to grow, our facility in New Florence is seeking a Plant Engineer - Electrical to support continuous operations by providing technical expertise for electrical systems, daily troubleshooting, and project oversight for operations and maintenance teams.
What You Will Be Doing - Serve as the lead technical resource for electrical systems including generators, transformers, motors, breakers, MCCs, batteries, UPS systems, instrumentation, and controls
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve electrical operating, safety, and design issues to ensure plant reliability and availability
- Implement reliability-focused solutions and maintenance strategies that reduce electrical system failures and overall maintenance costs
- Provide technical guidance for electrical component maintenance, testing procedures, and equipment performance evaluation
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and work management teams to resolve electrical engineering issues, assist with troubleshooting, and support daily plant needs and project execution
What You Need for This Position
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 5+ years of power-plant or heavy industrial experience involving electrical systems
- Strong working knowledge of generators, transformers, motors, breakers, MCCs, batteries, UPS systems, instrumentation, and controls
- Proven experience with testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement of electrical equipment in a large fossil-fuel power-generation environment
- Knowledge of industrial codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, OSHA)
