Mercy is seeking a dedicated LPN for our Cardiac Intermediate unit to work part time on the night shift, providing patient-centered care in a dynamic and collaborative healthcare environment. As an essential member of our Healthcare & Medical Services team, you will care for patients with cardiac and cardiac-related conditions who require close observation and specialized monitoring. In partnership with RNs, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team, you will deliver safe, high-quality nursing care that reflects Mercy’s mission of compassion, respect, diversity, and excellence in patient care. In this LPN Cardiac Intermediate Part Time Nights role, you will perform focused assessments and ongoing observations, monitor vital signs and telemetry, promptly recognize and report changes in patient condition, and support the implementation of individualized care plans. You will administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice, provide basic wound care and IV therapy as applicable, assist with diagnostic procedures, and support safe transitions of care through accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record. You will also play a critical role in patient and family education, reinforcing teaching about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle changes, and discharge instructions to promote recovery and prevent readmission. Working on the night shift in the Cardiac Intermediate unit, you will be expected to effectively prioritize and manage care for multiple patients, respond quickly to urgent clinical needs, and maintain a calm, professional presence during high-acuity situations. You will adhere to infection prevention standards, fall and safety protocols, and all Mercy policies and procedures. Collaboration is central to this position: you will participate in bedside handoffs, communicate clearly with RNs and providers, and contribute your observations and input during interdisciplinary care discussions to support optimal outcomes.
