Commissioning Project Manager of Renewable Energy

Preferred Background:
• Self starter with a high drive for quality, execution, and safety
• 5years experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction start up and commissioning
• 3 years experience minimum working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction start up and commissioning
• Proven track record and ability to interact with engineering personnel on highly technical issues, and then also interact with construction personnel on constructability, schedule, and cost issues as well
• Proven track record and ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects at once
Required Skillsets:
• Electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge including NEC and NFPA
• Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting
• E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup and troubleshooting
• Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting
• Inverter operation and communications startup and troubleshooting
• Battery Energy Storage System operation and troubleshooting
• Drawing review quality control inspection
• Progress reporting
• Computer skills Outlook, PDF editWord, Excel, document control systems and PowerPoint
• Management of third parties and suppliers
• Management of direct report team members
• Schedule and planning understanding
Job Description:
To work on behalf of the project Owner as a Project Manager on a portfolio of renewable energy (wind, solar, battery storage). This position is responsible for execution of assigned renewable power plant projects and teams as it relates to commissioning, start up and operational turnover.
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring commissioning activities for assigned projects are performed with high quality and adhering to all Nextera Energy and FPL safety policies.
• Responsible for coordination and management of, EPC contractor personnel, OEM start up personnel, third party start up contractors, and operations personnel on site, as it relates to site commissioning and startup.
• Responsible for project reliability at operational turnover with plants exhibiting as little lost time as necessary in initial operation.
• Responsible for compliance with all project contractual documents to include Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with local utility
• Responsible for oversight of NextEra commissioning personnel for multiple sites to ensure contractual obligations are met for all assigned projects
• Provides Subject Matter Expertise and input into business unit strategic planning for safety, manpower, and quality and efficiency improvement
• Interfaces with project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
