Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate students looking for only a summer job or that would need to work part-time during the school year. Job Title: Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) Company: Byrd & Wyandotte Eye Clinic Location: On-site at our office in Wyandotte, MI Travel to our other offices in Brownstown, Wayne and Dearborn, MI is required as needed. We do pay mileage reimbursement! This employee will also perform the necessary administrative responsibilities needed to create a smooth check-in/out experience for patients.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone). Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leaveAnswer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all timesPractice urgency at all times with patients' time, as well as Doctor's time and scheduleManage patient flow in the officeKnowledge of common fees charged for common visits and collect correct paymentsComplete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawerGeneral office duties and cleaning to be assigned by managerQualifications:Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all timesDesire to gain industry knowledge and trainingDemonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goalsAbility to grow, adapt, and accept changeConsistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focusedCommitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the businessReliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal noticeEducation and/or Experience:Minimum Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Minimum Required: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceLicenses and Credentials:Minimum Required: NoneSystems and Technology:Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OutlookPhysical Requirements:This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time.
