Job Summary and Qualifications

The Administrative Assistant supports healthcare facilities by managing daily clerical tasks, scheduling patient appointments, processing billing/insurance, maintaining records, and coordinating communication between staff, patients, and departments. They ensure smooth operations through professional receptionist duties, handling correspondence, and optimizing workflows, requiring strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

Administration: Handles correspondence, prepares documents/reports, maintains files, manages office supplies, and coordinates meetings.

Patient Support: Manages patient scheduling, check-ins, registration, and updates records.

Facility Operations: Acts as the initial contact for the administrative suite, providing excellent customer service to patients and staff.

Technical/Communication: Uses office technology for scheduling and billing, handles phone calls, and facilitates communication between departments.

Specialized Roles: Senior assistants may support C-suite executives, requiring independence in scheduling, reporting, and high-level communications.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred).

Experience: Previous administrative or clerical experience is required. Healthcare strongly preferred - Medical Terminology

Skills: Strong Microsoft Office skills (esp EXCEL) , professionalism, minutes-taking, and strong communication skills.

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast.
