Key Responsibilities Develop and implement welding procedures (WPS) and qualifications (PQR) to ensure consistent quality and compliance with industry standards. Oversee welding operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality control measures, and production schedules. Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications. Troubleshoot welding-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize defects and rework. Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, new technologies, and quality standards. Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize weldments for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and structural integrity. Conduct regular audits of welding processes and equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify areas for improvement. Research and evaluate new welding technologies and materials to enhance manufacturing capabilities and product quality. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW) and their applications. Familiarity with welding metallurgy, heat treatment, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. Strong understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API). Bonus Qualifications - Experience with robotic welding systems and programming.
