The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Hudsonville seeking experienced Welding Engineers. Key Responsibilities Oversee and optimize welding processes to ensure product quality and efficiency. Develop and implement welding procedures, specifications, and quality control standards. Troubleshoot welding-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques for manufacturing applications. Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and new technologies. Conduct performance testing and qualification of welding procedures and welders. Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of components. Stay abreast of new welding technologies, materials, and industry standards. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in welding process selection, development, and optimization for manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, SMAW, SAW, Laser, Resistance) and their applications. Proficiency in welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and their interpretation. Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for weld inspection and quality assurance. Familiarity with welding automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Bonus Qualifications Experience with automated welding processes (e.g., robotic, laser, electron beam) Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) techniques for metals Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation Certification in specific welding processes or materials (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector - CWI) Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies Why Pivot Group The Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
