Key Responsibilities Oversee and optimize welding processes to ensure product quality and efficiency. Develop and implement welding procedures, specifications, and quality control standards. Troubleshoot welding-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques for manufacturing applications. Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and new technologies. Conduct performance testing and qualification of welding procedures and welders. Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of components. Stay abreast of new welding technologies, materials, and industry standards. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in welding process selection, development, and optimization for manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, SMAW, SAW, Laser, Resistance) and their applications. Proficiency in welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and their interpretation. Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for weld inspection and quality assurance. Familiarity with welding automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
