The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Grandville seeking Welding Engineers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize welding procedures and parameters for various materials and applications. Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables to meet production requirements and quality standards. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of welding systems and equipment. Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with relevant welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS, ASME). Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and quality control. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of products. Monitor welding performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost‑saving initiatives. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in welding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW) and their applications. Knowledge of welding metallurgy, materials science, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods. Experience with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO). Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced NDT methods beyond basic ultrasonic and radiography. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to welding processes. Certification in a specialized welding process (e.g., robotic welding, laser welding). Knowledge of additive manufacturing techniques involving welding. Experience with simulation software for weld process modeling and optimization.
