The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Caledonia seeking Welding Engineers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Oversee and optimize welding processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications (WPS/PQR) in accordance with industry standards. Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques for various manufacturing applications. Conduct welding trials, testing, and analysis to qualify new materials, processes, and personnel. Troubleshoot welding-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for welding operations. Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, new technologies, and quality standards. Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to integrate welding considerations into product development. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS/PQR) for various materials and joining processes. Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, heat treatment, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods. Proficiency in welding process selection, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. Experience with quality control and assurance systems related to welding, including AWS and ISO standards. Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis for welding defects. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced welding processes like Friction Stir Welding or Laser Beam Welding. Certification in Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) methods. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with welding automation and robotic systems. Knowledge of metallurgy and material science specific to manufactured products.
