The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Byron Center seeking Welding Engineers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize welding procedures and parameters for various materials and joint configurations. Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables to meet product specifications and quality standards. Oversee and troubleshoot welding operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality control protocols. Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Train and mentor welders on proper techniques, safety procedures, and quality requirements. Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to ensure weldability and manufacturability of product designs. Manage and maintain welding equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning. Stay abreast of new welding technologies, materials, and industry best practices. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS) and qualifying them (PQR). Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and their applications in manufacturing. Knowledge of welding metallurgy, material science, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods. Experience with welding automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
