Fabricator / Welder

Location: Livonia, MI

Shift: 7am-330pm Monday-Friday

Pay: $30 per hour BOE

Cardinal Staffing Services is seeking a skilled and dependable Fabricator / Welder to join our team in Livonia. In this hands-on role, you will perform structural repairs on vacuum trucks and heavy diesel equipment, as well as fabricate new parts to support inventory and operational needs. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building, repairing, and improving equipment while maintaining high-quality workmanship in a professional shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair and restore vacuum trucks and heavy diesel equipment
• Cut out rusted or damaged components and fabricate, fit, and weld replacement parts
• Fabricate new parts to support inventory and equipment needs
• Safely operate MIG, TIG, and ARC welding equipment
• Use torches and plasma cutters for cutting and fabrication work
• Read and interpret measurements using tape measures, calipers, and precision tools
• Operate hand and power tools safely
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all shop safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
• Collaborate with team members to improve workflow and reduce downtime
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Prior experience or formal training in welding and/or fabrication preferred
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques
• Experience using torches and plasma cutters
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
• Dependable, safety-minded, and team-oriented
• Valid drivers license preferred
