Structural Welder Fabricator – Day, 1st Shift – Conveyor Concepts (CCMich) | Coopersville, MI Conveyor Concepts of Michigan (CCMich) is an engineer-driven manufacturing company that designs and builds custom material-handling systems and structural steel components . Our fabrication team works directly from drawings to produce one-of-a-kind and small-run weldments —not repetitive production parts. This role is ideal for an experienced welder/fabricator who takes pride in fit, finish, and accuracy, and who enjoys working in a hands-on shop environment where quality and teamwork matter. Important to Know Before Applying This is not a production-line welding role. We are looking for fabricators who can read drawings, fit parts accurately, and think through the build, not just weld pre-set parts all day. You’ll be expected to: Work from prints and layout drawings Fit, tack, weld, and finish parts with minimal rework Use cranes, jigs, and fixtures to safely position large weldments Why You’ll Like Working Here Four 10-hour shifts (Monday–Thursday) Limited overtime: Half-day Fridays when needed No mandatory weekends: Saturdays are voluntary; Sundays are never scheduled Safety-first culture: PPE, safety boots, and prescription safety glasses provided Stable employment: We work hard to keep our team working steady hours year-round Hands-on leadership: Supervisors are on the floor and available Small-business environment: You’re known by name and your work is noticed Monthly catered lunches and free snacks daily Schedule Monday–Thursday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM Friday (as needed): 5:00 AM – 11:30 AM Pay & Benefits Pay Range: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour (based on experience) Employment Type: Full-Time Benefits Include: Health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid Time Off based on years of service 9 paid holidays Annual bonus opportunities Employee Assistance Program Safety shoe reimbursement Prescription safety glasses Clothing discounts and tool loan program Key Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout specifications Fit, position, align, and weld structural steel and fabricated components Measure and verify parts using tape measures, squares, and layout tools Set up and operate fabrication equipment including flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses Lay out material and workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications Tack-weld and complete weldments per drawings Use cranes, hoists, and fixtures to safely move and position materials De-burr, prep, and tag parts for the next process Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Follow company safety policies and attendance expectations Perform other fabrication-related duties as assigned What We’re Looking For 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints Read a tape measure proficiently and solve fractions Comfortable fitting and welding parts with limited supervision Experience working with structural steel and fabricated components Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (heavier loads moved with crane or hi-lo) High school diploma or GED Valid driver’s license required This Role Is a Great Fit If You: Enjoy hands-on fabrication and building from prints Take pride in accuracy, fit, and workmanship Are comfortable working with large weldments and cranes Prefer variety over repetitive production welding This Role Is Likely Not a Fit If You: Are looking for strictly production or robotic welding Prefer repetitive, single-task welding roles Are not comfortable reading drawings or fitting parts #J-18808-Ljbffr Conveyor Concepts of Michigan, LLC
