Job Description

Job Summary: The Senior International Logistics Specialist is responsible for all export documentation and procedures relating to shipping, commodity classification, and Customs compliance in addition to leading departmental training of Export Admin Associates and new system testing. Duties & Responsibilities: * Manage relationships with Suppliers to establish efficient and economical shipping guidelines, responsible for routing instructions, process documentation and training for other team members. * Oversee the Department DG compliance training of new Associates, updating processes and documentation as needed to remain in compliance and coordinate these efforts globally * Reponsible for coordinating with other DC Managers to document and train local team members in any especial Export requirements (Data Loggers, Attested Docs,DG documentation, etc.) and liaison with global DC practices * Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of carrier system access, updates and proper functionality. * Focal point for all Customer Orders for Global Health (UNICEF, PAHO, etc.) business as well as Letter of Credit, Prepaid and Product Inspection of Customer Orders and documentation. * Oversee the local Chamber of Commerce system tools for Export Documentation Attestation. * Assist Import/Export Trade Compliance with export document recordkeeping, Schedule B code accuracy and Country of Origin. * Assist DC Managers with Masimo International DC Fulfillment shipments to all other Masimo locations. * Interfaces with Customer Service, Finance, Sales Ops and both internal and external customers as it relates to outbound international shipping, resolves problems and recommends corrective action when needed. * Coordinates carrier and forwarder pick-ups, provides freight quotes and research and recommends economical alternatives in methods and modes of transport. Provide feedback to management on carrier and logistics provider performance. * Maintains strict adherence with U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations regarding exports. * Maintain electronically, all export files (e.g., AWB’s, CI’s, COO’s and other documents pertaining to international outbound shipping) Ensures complete and accurate export documentation. * Provides timely updates to management on export-related issues and makes recommendations for process improvements. * Identifies discrepancies in Customs values, commodity codes and units of measure; makes corrections. * Cross train team members on international shipping, new customer and new system tools.

  • Performs other duties or special projects as requested.
  • Generates tracking metrics related to Export issues such as Incorrect
Documentation, Customs Entry Delays at destination, Incorrect Incoterms and other Export related key risk areas to support continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Minimum Qualifications: * Five or more years of related experience in Global Logistics and transportation modes (Parcel, LTL, FCL, LCL). * Progressive understanding of export regulations, documentation and compliance, SLI, AES filing, CI, COO, HAWB and other shipping documentation. * Understands electronic filing using AES, completes air waybills (AWB’s), commercial invoices (CI’s), certificates of origin (COO’s) certificate of compliance and other documents pertaining to exports.
  • Advanced understanding of US Customs policies and regulations.
  • Solid experience with shipping systems and automated tools.
  • Ability to follow oral and written communication.
  • Prior experience freight forwarding, brokerage, foreign distribution,
compliance.
  • Experience in control of documents and material tracking.
  • Must be PC literate and possess solid organizational and communication
skills. Preferred Qualifications: Certified in Dangerous Goods Transportation for all hazard classes, and all modes of transport. Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in a related field. Language requirements * Must be proficient in English. Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. * Can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. * Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations. Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is $71,000 - $85k plus benefits. Actual placement within this range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on company, department, and individual performance. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. Further, some business travel (domestic and international) may be required for up to 10%.
