Social Science/Humanities Research Associate III Position: Social Science/Humanities Research Associate III – Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health Hiring Department: Office of the Associate Dean for Research Location: UT Main Campus, Greater Chicago, IL area (remote options available) Start Date: May 01, 2026 Duration: Expected to continue until Apr 30, 2027 Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 (depending on qualifications) Job Purpose This role supports collaborative, community‑engaged research projects focused on mental health, helping advance research initiatives. Responsibilities Coordinate quantitative and qualitative data collection across multiple research projects using approved methods. Translate study results and intervention tools into visually engaging, accessible formats for a variety of audiences. Oversee data cleaning, coding, and database management for descriptive project reporting and analyses for academic journal manuscripts. Maintain strong relationships with project partners and support collaborative research efforts through clear communication. Provide support with writing, editing, and reviewing scientific literature, and manage references and citations for grant proposals and academic journal articles. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related social science field with at least 4 years of relevant experience. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Values the contributions of others in the work environment. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a related social science field with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Experience with data management, analysis, and reporting with large datasets. Clinical or research experience in the mental health field. Experience conducting multi‑site evaluation and intervention studies. Lived experience with mental health and passion for partnership with young people and community providers. Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Located in the greater Chicago, IL area – remote work allowed. Work Shift Monday‑Friday, flexible between 8 am – 6 pm.
