Job Description
The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for providing safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research. This role involves delivering patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
Key responsibilities

• Delivering patient care through the tenets of Relationship-Centered Care.
• Assessing and evaluating patient needs, applying critical thinking skills.
• Integrating assessment and intervention skills into nursing care.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team on care plans.
• Prioritizing all aspects of patient care, including education, rounding, and planning post-hospital care.
• Educating patients and caregivers on their care plans and health maintenance.
• Communicating effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Managing assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing care model.
• Practicing safe, patient-centered care and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Documenting nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Performing charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Coordinating resources, including supplies and staffing, to ensure efficient patient care.
• Contributing to a supportive care environment for clinical colleagues and patients.
• Advancing clinical competence in nursing practice, encouraging lifelong learning.
• Participating in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils and nursing department committees.

Skills and Qualifications

• NYS RN License
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of medicine experience
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Pediatrics)
• 1 year of travel experience
• EPIC experience highly preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Associate Degree in Nursing considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN program.
