Production Scheduler

Surestaff is immediately hiring a Production Scheduler for a large, well-known client in Lake Forest, IL. The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning and coordinating work processes to ensure optimal resource use and on-time delivery of products. They act as a critical link between sales demand and shop-floor execution. Surestaff is invested in their team members! All Temp-To-Hire employees are offered competitive compensation $18-20/HR as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).

Available shifts include - 1st: 6:00am - 2:30pm M-F

Production Scheduler Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and plant capacity.
• Balance labor, machine capacity, and materials to maximize throughput and efficiency.
• Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure raw materials are available before production starts.
• Provide quick responses to unforeseen issues such as machine breakdowns, supply shortages, or urgent customer "rush" orders.
• Generate reports on production attainment, lead times, and capacity constraints to brief leadership on operational status.
• Analyze historical data to identify bottlenecks and implement Lean or continuous improvement strategies to reduce waste.

Production Scheduler Requirements and Qualifications

• Knowledge of supply chain management, or industrial engineering.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Visual Manufacturing) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Certified in Planning and Inventory Management preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating across cross-functional teams like engineering, sales, and logistics
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve scheduling conflicts and capacity issues.
