Do you have experience safely operating equipment and maintaining plant safety in an aggregate environment? We are hiring an Aggregate Plant Operator for our Jeffco Pit. You will be responsible for safely operating equipment and tools to efficiently run our aggregate plant. Your primary focus will be on equipment operation, maintaining plant safety, and supporting maintenance. Collaborating with your team to ensure smooth daily operations, identify safety hazards and maintenance needs, and complete required documentation, you will support continuous improvement and ensure compliance with regulations. What you will be doing Safely operate the processing plant to transform raw pit material into finished aggregate products Use various equipment—including loaders, haul trucks, skid steers, welders, and hand tools—to complete daily tasks Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational priorities and cross-train in other positions as needed Help maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment through housekeeping and routine maintenance duties Conduct regular plant walk-throughs to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and review completed repairs Complete required documentation, highlighting opportunities for plant improvements, and escalate operational issues to the Foreman Follow all safety policies and regulations, including MSHA and company standards Perform other duties as assigned What we would like from you Ability to safely and confidently use power tools, welders, hand tools, and related equipment Self-motivated with a strong ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Basic mechanical aptitude and solid math skills Availability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends Previous experience in the aggregate industry and proficiency in welding is considered an asset Prior experience operating heavy machinery in a plant environment is a plus High School Diploma or GED equivalent is considered an asset Location and other key details: This is a full-time permanent field-based position at our Ewing Pit, 7501 Hwy 85, Fort Lupton, CO 80621. Position involves working 12-hour shifts with weekend hours as necessary This is a safety sensitive position, offers of employment are conditional on successful completion of fitness for duty assessments, including drug and alcohol screening and a criminal background check Travel to various job sites required as needed, less than 10% Regular outdoor work with exposure to a range of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow Frequently required to climb, kneel, bend, reach, lift loads up to 30 lbs, carry items up to 20 lbs, push, pull, and use manual dexterity to perform duties effectively Frequently stand, walk, and use fine and gross motor skills, including hand-eye coordination, near and distance vision to perform your tasks safely and accurately Regular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, vests, and glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for special jobs as required Salary Range: $26.00 / hour and up Why BURNCO?
