Position Qualifications:
• Minimum Education:
- Graduate - Diploma from an accredited school of optometry.
• Licensing/Certification:
- Must have an Alaska license and be certified to use both diagnostic and therapeutic agents. - Successfully pass the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease (TMOD) certification or the National Board of Examiners in Optometry equivalent.
• Equipment/Tools:
- Must have the computer skills needed to access computerized medical records.
• Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- General Optometry
• Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Ability to supervise medical students, residents, and physician extenders, and Community Health Aide clinical practice. Also oversee medical staff in their service area. ABOUT: We are a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers the Kuskokwim and Yukon.We offer a broad range of employment opportunities and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the health of people in the region.Located in the Southwestern Alaska town of Bethel, with a total of approximately 6,000 people. We support 1500 employees, providing the health services to a primarily Yup'ik Eskimo Native population for an area the size of Oregon. Services are provided through a Bethel located hospital and 50 clinics throughout the YK Delta.
