Job Title and Details Job Title: Meter Reader Reports To: Field Operations Manager Department: Operations Location: NJ/PA/NY Job Overview The Meter Reader will accurately read and record commercial electrical, water, and gas meters for billing purposes using a smart phone (Android or iPhone). The meter locations are in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. Schedule will be 30-40 hours for one week, monthly. Starting pay $25.00 per hour. Duties and Responsibilities Perform meter reads on commercial electrical, water, and gas. Re-reads when necessary. Take clear photos of meters. Notate and/or inform management of any issues or changes that occur. Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment and reporting safety concerns. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma, GED or technical background preferred. Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record; able to pass pre-employment background check; Personal vehicle will be used for travel to different sites. Mileage reimbursement provided at IRS rate. Employee must provide and use a personal cell phone for work; cell phone reimbursement as per Genea policy. Basic proficiency with smartphone applications & internet. Ability to read all types of meters. Clear, professional communication; contribute to a positive customer experience; team-oriented attitude. Maintain composure in challenging situations; manage multiple tasks; strong time management; accountability. Strong attention to detail; ability to identify and solve problems; escalate as needed. Ability to work with company leadership and supervisor; follow all company policies and SOPs aligned with company values. Physical Demands and Work Environment Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands/fingers with dexterity. Frequently climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl; occasionally talk or hear. Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions (non-weather) and external weather conditions. Frequently work near moving mechanical parts; occasional high places. Noise level usually moderate; may lift and/or move more than 20 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception; ability to adjust focus. Tools provided as needed. Salary and Benefits Estimated Salary Range: $25 per hour (Plus mileage and cell phone reimbursement per above details).
