Responsibilities The Medical Science Liaison is a field-based, scientific, and clinical expert who strategically supports the medical and scientific objectives of the program. Key aspects of this role will include engaging in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals that translate into meaningful insights while serving as a therapeutic expert.
Additional responsibilities include: - Establish, cultivate, and maintain scientific relationships with KOL's while developing a strong understanding of clinical practice as it relates to areas of interest to advance scientific and medical knowledge.
- Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for appropriate assigned customer.
- Communicate clinical and scientific data to KOLs and healthcare professionals through presentations, educational programs, and scientific discussions.
- Serve as the primary resource to provide support for addressing unsolicited medical questions and other scientific exchange matters.
- Identify, gather, and document field-generated scientific insights to drive innovative Medical Affairs strategies while complying with industry and corporate policies and procedures.
- Maintain scientific and clinical knowledge base through continuous learning and awareness of related scientific literature to enable meaningful scientific exchange.
- Collaborate with field-based Medical colleagues, appropriate Commercial colleagues, and the broader organization to provide scientific expertise and share Medical insights in support of internal and external activities.
- Leverage knowledge of standards of care and company/investigator-sponsored clinical trials and competitor landscape to facilitate external-internal research communication.
- Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries of Health Care Providers (HCPs)/investigators/health care systems/academic medical centers and treatment team members integrating scientific data including real-world evidence into real-life practice to meet customer needs.
Requirements:
Along with your ability to remain at the forefront of your field, you must possess: - MD, PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, or equivalent degree preferred.
- 2+ years of industry experience as a Medical Science Liaison or 5+ years of clinical or related practical experiences in GI/Liver required.
- Strong scientific & clinical acumen.
- Ability to quickly understand & translate complex scientific data & realize the potential impact of that data on clinical practice & potential research needs.
- Ability to travel up to 60%, overnights and weekends may be required, and possess a valid driver's license to drive to assigned healthcare accounts, unless otherwise specified.
