Part-Time Medical Receptionist

Toledo Clinic's Dermatology Office located in South Lyon, Michigan is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist. This position will work Wed/Thurs (8-4) and Fri (8-2). Previous experience in a medical office is strongly preferred.

General Summary

Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of a busy dermatology practice.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Example of Essential Duties:

• Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
• Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
• Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
• Updating insurance information.
• Answering general patient questions.
• Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel.

Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):

• Collecting co-pays.
• Preparing and/or submitting charge tickets.
• Preparing and cleaning exam rooms.
• Sorting, filing and scanning patient charts.
• Occasional travel to other office locations as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Required:

• Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills required.
• Intermediate Computer skills
• Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
• Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles and work assignments.
• Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.

Education:

• HS diploma or GED.

Preferred: Previous clerical experience in a Drs. office highly preferred.
