Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Plant Technician to support our ice manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining equipment, monitoring production systems, and ensuring the plant operates safely and efficiently.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who takes pride in keeping operations running at full capacity.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor ice production equipment and systems
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on machinery
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system issues in real time
• Monitor ammonia refrigeration systems and ensure safe operation
• Assist with plant startup, shutdown, and daily production processes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant floor
• Document maintenance work, repairs, and system performance
• Coordinate with operations and management to minimize downtime
• Follow all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company procedures

 

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, plant operations, or mechanical work
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in a cold, wet, and physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working with industrial equipment and tools
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently

 

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems (NH3)
• Background in food production, manufacturing, or cold storage facilities
• Electrical or PLC troubleshooting experience
• Refrigeration certifications (RETA, CIRO, etc.)

 

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Flexible shifts (day, evening, or overnight depending on production needs)
• Weekend availability may be required
• Overtime may be required during peak production periods
