Job Description

We are in search of a dedicated and mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will have the overall line responsibility from production to packaging. You will operate the computer system that works our bottle machines, stack finished products, monitor production, and pull samples for the lab. You will be required to record production and problems encountered during your shift, ensuring goods are produced and packaged in the correct quantity and in accordance with agreed specifications. You will work to ensure that the team is efficient and works together harmoniously.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the computer system that manages bottle machines.
  • Stack finished products and monitor production.
  • Pull samples for lab testing.
  • Record production details and issues during shifts.
  • Ensure goods are produced and packaged correctly and in accordance with specifications.
  • Promote team efficiency and harmony.
  • Regularly stand, walk, and reach as part of daily tasks.
  • Lift 10 lbs regularly, 30 lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Our company specializes in the manufacturing of bottles and caps for products such as shampoo, conditioner, mouth wash, hand soap, etc. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, long pants, jeans or khakis, and a t-shirt. We will provide ear plugs, hair nets, and other necessary items. Adherence to GMP guidelines is required. Shifts are 12-hour switch shifts - 2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off. Shift times are A/C and B/D: 6:00pm-6:30am. A 30-day probationary period includes training from 6 AM - 6 PM on a 2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off schedule.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iowa City, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
