Job Description
Partner is sought that will configure, document and train OIT's personnel how to further the use of Microsoft Azure DevOps Services in sustainable fashion.
Engagement objectives are:
- Collaboration with OIT team members to increase automation and DevOps within the SSDLC:
- For secure source repository, version and artifact management for code, configurations and infrastructure
- build, testing (security, quality, regression, performance, compliance), deployment automation & release management to on-prem, GCP and AWS environments
- tracking of issues encountered in non-production environments, contextual tasking & communication
- centralized user and contributor access management (internal & external)
- Integrations with tooling from Veracode, Sonarqube, WAVE, AWS, Terraform and VMWare
Azure DevOps tooling objectives:
- Consistent process end to end regardless of platform (Java, .Net) or methodology (PMBOK Waterfall, Agile Scrum, Kanban, hybrids & mutations)
- Conducive to collaboration & Section 508 compliance (accessibility)
- Reduce context switching by reducing number of tools required to support consistent process
- High degree of automation and workflow management throughout the integrated process (Secure System Development Lifecycle process) accounting for functions listed above.
- Location and domain agnostic (develop anywhere, deploy & run anywhere - on prem / cloud)
- Sustainable, scalable platform with easy access to "bolt on" aftermarket parts
- Integration with inputs (demand management) and outputs (operational monitoring & reporting)
There are also going to be 4 distinct scenarios that will have to be satisfied as part of this engagement:
- Transitioning a mature (current user of CI / CD) .Net team onto the platform and associated processes
- Transitioning an immature .Net team onto the platform and associated processes
- Transitioning a mature (current user of CI / CD) Java team onto the platform and associated processes
- Transitioning an immature Java team onto the platform and associated processes
There will be a dedicated OIT team (Tiger Team) that will work shoulder to shoulder with the partner. This team is going to be comprised of 2 - 4 developers / DevOps engineers.
