Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer Overview Job Position: Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer – 3 + of experience Location: Hunt Valley, MD Company: Carroll Engineering, Inc. (ceiengineering.com), a civil engineering, structural engineering, and landscape architectural design firm, is looking to hire a landscape architect with 3+ of experience. Carroll Engineering, Inc. (CEI) is a leader in the design field, working on a range of different types of developments in the Maryland area and surrounding States, including institutional, commercial, recreational, multi-family residential and public construction projects. Job Description: CEI is seeking a creative, skilled and self-motivated Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer to join our dynamic team in Hunt Valley, MD. Candidates should have 3 or more years of progressively responsible experience working in the field of landscape architecture and site planning. A solid understanding of general site layout, hardscaping, grading, landscaping, and environmental design is preferred. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, creative, and has experience in, or is willing to learn, managing projects from inception through construction. The applicant shall hold a solid knowledge of site design, landscape principles, an understanding of land development regulatory requirements and is able to create innovative outdoor spaces that enhance the environment and meet client needs. Responsibilities Conduct site assessments and visual land surveys to evaluate site conditions. Provide sustainable design and general management of projects. Develop comprehensive landscape architectural site designs and prepare construction documents using Autodesk / Civil 3D drafting software. Prepare preliminary project designs and presentation documents using Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, MS Office, Bluebeam Incorporate horticultural knowledge into designs, selecting appropriate plant species for various environments. Write and edit landscape architectural design specifications in Masterspec format Attend meetings and interact with clients, design teams members, and contractors. Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, designers, and construction teams on design and construction of projects to ensure designs are implemented accurately. Perform construction administration related services including shop drawing reviews, responding to requests for information, and completing periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized site inspections. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Landscape Architecture or related field. 3+ years of relevant experience in: Site layout & grading principals, including pedestrian-oriented spaces Landscape design and environmental design (Forest, Critical Area, and Wetland Management, etc.) Creation of presentation documentations Ability to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced collaborative environment Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Civil 3D, and Adobe Photoshop (all preferred but not required) Green Building Rating System accredited (preferred but not required) Professional Landscape Architectural (P.L.A.) license (preferred but not required) Competitive compensation commensurate with experience with discretionary bi-annual performance bonuses 401(k) with match Profit Sharing Health Insurance Life Insurance Paid Holidays Paid time off Carroll Engineering cannot sponsor any work visas such as H-1B or otherwise. #J-18808-Ljbffr
