Ideal candidate will have a current Journeyman or Master Electrician license and a Texas Drivers License Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver's license and eligible to drive State and institutional vehicles.
The salary range is $69,000 - $86,000 - $103,500.
The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm.

The primary purpose of the Electrician position is to provide skilled electrical work of the journeyman level in installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment. This position impacts the entire Institution's electrical functionality. Responsible for carrying out skilled tasks in accordance with standard practices of the trade and Institutional specifications. Oversee the quality and production of all electrical work.
Essential job functions include interpreting and working from instructions, blueprints, sketches and diagrams in the installation of electrical systems. Estimates cost of work and may order materials and maintain inventory. Performs a variety of electrical work. May coordinate the workflow of technicians and mechanics. Investigates outages.
Job specific competencies include ensuring proper functioning of electrical systems and maintaining O&M warehouse inventory; maintaining an efficient response to work orders and providing support to other crafts; assisting in keeping accurate and up-to-date information on inspection reports and punch lists; maintaining critical alarm systems; and other duties as assigned.
Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred: Completion of a recognized apprenticeship.
Work experience: Required: One year post-journeyman experience in commercial/industrial electrical work involving interior and exterior wiring and the repair of electrical equipment and systems.
Licenses and certifications: Required: JRNY-E - Journeyman Electrician Texas. or EL-M - Master Electrician Texas. Preferred: TDL - Texas Drivers License Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver's license and eligible to drive State and institutional vehicles.
