Job Description

The Seeing Eye, the pioneer of dog guide schools, is seeking two individuals to join the Food Service & Housekeeping department for the summer months at our Morristown campus.

For 97 years, The Seeing Eye has enhanced the independence, dignity, and self-confidence of blind people through the use of Seeing Eye® dogs. From its campus outside Morristown, NJ, and a nearby state-of-the-art breeding station, The Seeing Eye's 170-member staff matches and trains about 275 teams of graduates and dog guides each year.

• This is an excellent summer opportunity for a recent high school graduate or college student to earn some money during the summer months before returning to college in the Fall.
• Temporary summer opening from May through August 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning duties related to the student bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge areas.
• Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, change bedding, and other tasks
• Food Service responsibilities include serving meals, dining room preparation and clean-up after meals.

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
• Periods of standing, walking, reaching, bending and kneeling are required
• Must be able to work independently and follow instructions regarding tasks and functions
• Days will vary for this summer position
• Hours are from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Occasional holiday and weekend work required
• Prior experience preferred

Salary & Benefits:

• $17.00 per hour
• Meals provided depending on shift worked
