POSITION: Dishwasher

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Café Manager

As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are washed, sanitized, and stored properly. Your attention to detail and strong work ethic will contribute to the overall success of our cafe.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glasses, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using dishwashers

• Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards

• Organize and store clean dishes and utensils properly

• Assist with kitchen cleanup tasks as needed

• Maintain a clean environment including the cleaning of the back of house, bar areas, and patios to contribute to a healthy environment for customers and employees

• Follow all Verve policies, procedures, and processes

• Assist with daily mise en place and prep work as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience as a Dishwasher or in a similar role preferred

• Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety procedures

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods of time

• Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude

• Ability to work well in a team setting

• Must be 18 years or older

• Able to multi-task and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to communicate effectively with others, written and verbally

• Inclusive, respectful and professional and the ability to work as part of a team

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

• The hours can be part-time/full-time based on availability, available weekends and Holidays, Hours can fluctuate due to the needs of the business.

Physical Requirements

The following physical demands outline the requirements necessary for employees to effectively carry out the essential functions of this position. During the performance of duties, employees are expected to engage in regular communication, auditory perception, and reading tasks. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential job functions.

This role is dynamic and involves prolonged periods of standing (or being on one's feet for up to 8 hours), walking, bending, stooping, and crouching throughout the shift. Additionally, employees will be required to lift products and packaging overhead and may frequently handle items weighing between 25 and 50 pounds. Essential vision capabilities for this role encompass close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Furthermore, adept finger and wrist dexterity are essential for successful performance in this position.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and location.
