A prominent national law firm is seeking a seasoned Commercial Litigation Attorney at the Counsel or Junior Partner level to join our expanding team in either Tysons Corner, VA or Bethesda, MD.

This is a lead-litigator role designed for an attorney who thrives on autonomy and meaningful responsibility. You will serve as the primary counsel on high-stakes commercial litigation matters, managing cases from inception through resolution. While senior partners provide high-level strategy and support, this role is for a professional who is comfortable fully owning their files and supervising junior associates as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Case Leadership: Take over and manage commercial litigation matters delegated by senior partners, serving as the day-to-day lead counsel.
• Trial & Courtroom Work: Confidently handle trial work several times per year, including arguing motions and defending/taking depositions.
• Strategic Oversight: Develop and execute litigation strategies while maintaining high-level communication with senior leadership.
• Mentorship: Supervise and guide junior attorneys on case work, document review, and research.
• Business Development: Utilize a national platform to cross-sell services and grow your existing practice.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 10–20+ years of substantial commercial litigation experience with a proven track record of running cases independently.
• Licensure: Active Virginia Bar admission is required. Additional admission to the DC or Maryland Bar is a significant plus.
• Book of Business: A small portable book of business (approximately $200K+) is required to demonstrate professional growth and client management.
• Litigation Skills: Deep experience in all phases of litigation, including discovery, motions practice, and courtroom representation.
