Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

As a Behavioral Specialist, your day will involve creating positive environments that support behavior and development. You will work closely with direct care staff, providing training and coaching to help them use effective strategies. You will be ready to respond to behavioral emergencies to keep students and staff safe, which may include participating in physical restraint procedures when necessary. Your role will also include helping with student appointments and community activities that support individual treatment plans. You will collaborate with clinical teams to conduct assessments and manage behavior data, ensuring everything is documented properly and meets regulatory standards.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience working with people with special needs or in a residential care setting
  • Experience in Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), Trauma-Informed Care, and ABA strategies
  • CPR, First Aid, and non-violent physical intervention certifications (must be obtained within 3 months of hire and maintained during employment)
  • Active driver's license in the state of residence that is current, valid, and in good standing
  • Reliable transportation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn and use other software related to the position

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE:
  • Pay: This full-time psychology position offers a competitive salary and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with special needs.
  • Schedule: This is a full-time Behavioral Specialist role with a flexible schedule based on the needs of the department. Some weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts may be required.
