Mechanical Pump Assembler This role focuses on assembling customer-specific pumps in a small, deadline-driven manufacturing environment. You will work from detailed prints and schematics, using hand and power tools to build customized pump systems. Responsibilities Assemble customer-specific pumps according to detailed blueprints, prints, and schematics. Use a variety of hand and power tools, including tape measures, to build and fit pump components accurately. Interpret and follow technical drawings and documentation to ensure correct assembly and configuration. Work with PVC, stainless pipes, and other materials as needed for plumbing-related pump assemblies. Apply knowledge of plastic fabrication, including an understanding of heat penetration when working with plastic materials. Collaborate with team members and ask clarifying questions to ensure quality and accuracy in all builds. Meet production deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented manufacturing environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and best practices. Troubleshoot basic assembly issues and make adjustments to improve fit, function, and overall product quality. Demonstrate self-sufficiency, discipline, and initiative in daily tasks while being open to guidance when needed. Essential Skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and schematics. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including tape measures, safely and accurately. Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly experience. Prior plumbing experience working with PVC or stainless pipes. Experience in carpentry or woodworking, or similar mechanical trade Comfort working in a deadline-oriented manufacturing setting. Self-motivation, discipline, and initiative to work independently without close supervision. Willingness to ask questions, learn new techniques, and grow within the role. Supervisors do not micromanage, so you are expected to be self-sufficient, disciplined, and proactive while asking questions when needed. When things are going well, employees may listen to headphones or the radio at their workstations, contributing to a focused yet relaxed workday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
